CST 499: Directed Group Capstone
Students will work on a project in large groups (up to 5 students in each group), developing requirements specification, a solution plan followed by design and implementation of the solution. The problem statement for the projects will be selected by the faculty. Faculty will also play the role of a project manager directing the schedule and deliverables for these projects.
Capstone Project: The Stonk Mark-It
Summary
The Stonk Mark-It's is a platform dedicated to showing easy-to-digest metrics from social media and the top stocks and cryptocurrencies. Our goal is to have The Stonk Mark-It serve as an educational tool for those new to trading.
Technical Summary
Our backend, using python, pulls tweets related to the stocks/crypto we are tracking and runs them through a machine learning model to remove spam tweets before analyzing their sentiment and saving them to our database. Our Frontend built on React and Nodejs displays pricing, times mention, relevant news, and sentiment for each stock and cryptocurrency in an easy-to-digest format.
